If you fell in love with Puccini's Madame Butterfly, you'll recognise the bones of the Miss Saigon plot, inspired by the famously lovely opera. This epic musical originally enjoyed a sensational record-breaking run at the West End's Theatre Royal Drury Lane a quarter of a century ago. Since then it has been translated into 15 languages, played in 300 or so cities across the world and been seen by around 35 million people. Wow!

This brand new version was adapted from the original, brought up to date and given a facelift. And the results are amazing. It's a world class piece of theatrical art telling the tragic tale of young bar girl called Kim, orphaned by the Vietnamese war, who falls head over heels in love with Chris, a young US GI, and what happens when their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon.

The show reveals the final days of US occupation in 1975.It's a proper saga. And its record speaks for itself: the show has won forty or so glittering awards including two prestigious Oliviers and three Tonys.
